The "spy novel" is set in the spring of 1941. An agent of Abwehr codenamed Wasser is infiltrated to Moscow. The spy's assignment: to convince the Soviet governing bodies, in every way, that all the intel regarding an attack of Germany on the USSR in the summer of 1941 is just a provocation of British intelligence services. Woefully, this agent succeeds in almost everything. He even meets Stalin in private and during a one-on-one conversation gives him "top secret information" according to which if Hitlerite Germany happens to decide to attack the Soviet Union, it will take place not before 1943. The Soviet intelligence tries, by all means, to smell out and arrest the spy, but will they manage to do that?..
